Hershel’s Gift has been around for so long that it is hard to process that there was a time when I did not have it easily to hand for sickness – whether it was for me or for someone close to me.
I’ve jested 1for years that I would feel more comfortable if everyone I cared about had ready access to this tea.
It has actually been around for so long that it started with one of the boring names, progressed to being called Elderberry Elixir, and then finally became Hershel’s Gift due to my shock at a television show doing something right in the herbal realm – as well as becoming a salute to a character lost to a show’s plot roulette.
I have an ongoing love of elderberries and need very little excuse to put them in a tea – for reasons of both taste and their myriad health benefits.2
They pair exceptionally well with the other herbs in this tea, making it a pleasure to drink – and a comfort, too, once it has become part of the “I feel like garbage and would like it to stop” regimen.
